Probabil aţi primit e-mailuri care pretind a fi de la prieteni, însă s-au dovedit nu aşa. Ei, chestia cu viruşii şi spam-ul cred că o ştiţi foarte bine. Ce facem, însă, dacă nu e cazul de spam/virus, însă chiar vrem să ştim dacă mesajul provine de la acea adresă care e menţionată în el? E bine dacă am avut grijă de PGP şi avem doar mesaje semnate. Ce facem, însă, dacă nu?
Există aşa o chestie care se numeşte SPF (Sender Policy Framework). E un adaos la sistemul DNS, care permite proprietarului domain-ului respectiv să listeze adresele serverelor care expediază mesaje provenite din acest domain.
Adică, dacă avem un careva mesaj pretins de la ion@popescu.com, expediat prin serverul SMTP 123.234.56.7, însă domain-ul popescu.com nu listează acest server printre înregistrările sale SPF, atunci e foarte probabil că cineva altul încearca să se dea drept ion@popescu.com
E. Sună foarte tehnic şi complicat, însă untilizatorului îi trebuie să aibă ceva simplu şi care i-ar da de ştire când ceva nu e în regulă. Pentru Thunderbird există un add-on numt Sender Verification Extension. Lucrează foarte bine, vi-l recomand.

mai departe deam în cadrul proiectului face ce vrea şi cum consideră de cuviinţă.
deam cu “add subscription” şi alte automatizări gen settings în Firefox ca la feed-uri să te abonezi prin Google Reader, te descurci singur…

just a quick note for future reference on how to connect Miranda to Google Talk:
this article tells how to make multiple jabber server connections with Miranda.
shortly put, just make a copy of jabber.dll plugin, giving it some other name (ex: jabber2.dll).
it seems that Miranda identifies plugins by just their DLL name, thus the same trick may apply to other protocols as well…
although this works okay, i’d still advise to go the right way and ask your jabber server admin to allow inter-server communication.
at some point, i got sick of all that lot of “seen the news?” messages i receive way too often via instant messengers.
it’s fairly annoying that these messages usually come at the wrong time, when i’m hell busy.
thanks to Google, there’s a non-annoying way of doing these things: via Google Reader. in addition to what almost any standalone RSS/Atom reader application does, Google Reader has a “share” button.
this is how it works:
you browse the news, and, if you decide it’s something others should know about, press that “share” button. all the things you’ve shared appear on your “shared items” webpage, which has a feed as well.
see the blue box on the left of this blog? those are my shared items.
i’m open to receive the “shared items” feed URLs from anyone that cares of keeping me informed. please email me yours and i’ll aggregate it in my reader. or, if you want a broader audience, drop it in a comment to this post.
